

Dorothy Barbara Sloboda, 89 of Venice, Florida passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023 due to complications from Alzheimer’s. Dottie was born June 29, 1933 in Manhattan, NY the youngest of seven children born to Harry and Rose Paul. She married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) A. Sloboda on June 25, 1955. They moved the family from Massapequa Long Island, NY to Altamonte Springs, Florida in 1967 when her husband was transferred to the Orlando Naval Training Center. Dottie was a homemaker who loved raising their two children until they finished school.
Dottie then worked as an office representative for a local vending company for 12 years. Dottie and Bob enjoyed traveling to Europe, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, going on cruises and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, hiking in North Carolina, spending time at the beaches in Sanibel Island and Englewood, walking in races and collecting medals, but being a Nana to her granddaughter, Molly Rose was her greatest joy.
Dottie endeared herself to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob (2019) and her beloved granddaughter, Molly Rose Dalton (2020). She is survived by her son, Robert H. Sloboda and his wife, Jean of Englewood, Florida and her daughter, Patricia H. Dalton and her husband, Gary of Sebring, Florida.
A Memorial Service will be held at Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Church on Tuesday April 11, 2023 at 10:00 am. Afterwards, lunch at 11:15 am will held at Cassariano’s Italian Eatery to celebrate her life.
