Elizabeth Maki

Elizabeth (Betty) June was born in Detroit, MI to Giovanni (John) and Geldrude (Mary) Maiuri on March 3rd, 1927. Betty married Charles S. Pentecost on Nov.10th, 1945 in Detroit, MI and they were married for 50 years. They had 7 children and Betty spent her life as a homemaker and caregiver for so many people. She loved to dance and prided herself on always being dressed to perfection.

Betty is survived by 7 children. Charles (Sally) Pentecost II, Trudy Desjardins, Donna Connor, Linda Rankin, Debbie (Ralph) McNabb, Shirley (Dan) Drinkwater, and Elizabeth (Lisa) Copeman. Her stepsister Vera Tucci. 17 Grandchildren, and 21 Great-Grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband’s: Charles S. Pentecost Sr., George Hood, and Irv Maki. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: John Maiuri, Anita Hall, Elvera Robichaud, and stepsister Jean Pedica. Her Son-in-Law Dale Desjardins Sr., 3 grandsons: Steven Burch, Justin Rankin, and Brian Pentecost.

A simple funeral service (per her request) will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 6970 Mineola Rd, Englewood, FL on Sunday June 19th at 2pm. Reverend Kress officiating. Interment will take place at the family plot in Lexington, MI on July 30th at noon in the St. Denis cemetery on Harrington Rd.

Betty lived a great long life. She cared for and touched many people in so many ways. Please join us in remembering and celebrating her.
