He attended Needham High School then entered the army 1957. He married Jackie Soltys in 1973, they have a son, Eric Soltys who recently married Caitlin who has a son, Maddox.
Fred had his own Pool Company and retired at 75 years old. Fred was a member and treasurer of the Village Club in Needham, Needham Golf Club and the Elks.
He's survived by his sister Bernice and husband Richard, also his brother's in law Ernest Swan and Steve Therrien and his wife, Diega; he leaves many nieces and nephews and a grand niece and nephew.
His world revolves around his son and his hockey career.
