Born April 26, 1933, in Ubelbach, Austria, Inga was the daughter of Bruno Trostl, who ran a family circus. Following World War II, she and her family performed on the highwire throughout Europe. They emigrated to the United States in 1947, where Inga continued to perform with the family in circuses, at fairs, in churches, and at festivals across the country.
She was the loving wife of Robert W. Dowd of Trenton, NJ, to whom she was married for 67 years; Robert predeceased her.
Inga was the sister of Erich Trostl, deceased, and sister in law to Katherine Trostl, who was also her caretaker for 7 years. She was the mother of Bobby Dowd and family, and Michael Dowd, and her most precious daughter, Patricia (Dowd) Fuchs, who is now deceased. She adored her dachshund, Erich, who misses his mommy immensely.
