I loved James, because he loved my mother! I remember him being such a good friend to her. All these years later, I just found out he passed. Thank you “ Hagler”! You really made my momma smile!

I remember the night we danced on the bar at Back Eddy’s…John, James and I…as a tribute to Michael Jackson.  What wonderful times  we had during those days-2008-2013-the 5 years John and I spent in Venice.  
James was so full of life and fun.  His love, support of and dedication to the City of Venice could never be overlooked…he saw to it.
You are missed, my friend.  I think of you every time I listen to my Christmas jazz cd.  Thank you for that gift and the gift of your friendship.

Geico is showing old commercials and every time the Hump Day one with camel comes on I remember you constantly saying Mike Mike guess what day it is... Hummmp Day!

Everyday I feel the lack of your presence in this world. It doesn’t shine nearly as bright. I always looked forward to your shenanigans, even when you were out of town you were the center of intrigue and excitement.

I will look for you in space my dear sweet friend.

James was a good friend and a good neighbor. In the ten years that I knew him,  the two of us helped each other out, up until the very end. As Larry Evans mentioned in what I think was the most beautiful tribute to him, James' door was always open, wide open.  He loved the City of Venice and dedicated the last years of his career to making it a better place. He had many friends. And he had an eye for women. Many women.  Two of them he really loved-- Aimee and Diana.  James also loved his Tanqueray and tonic, or his Smirnoff and tonic later. There will be one sitting at the bar for him as Venetians celebrate his life.
