

James "Mike" Scanlon was born on January 24th 1944 in NYC. He lived his young years in the Bronx, went on to serve his country during the Vietnam War as an E-4 in the Navy. He went on to own a successful contracting company, Keys Acoustics in Sugarloaf Key Florida for 30 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #2378, American Legion Post #0159 and the Moose Lodge # 1933 in Englewood Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Scanlon and Helen Donohue Scanlon, his brothers Gerald, John, David and daughter in law Debra Scanlon.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Cheryl, his brother Dan Scanlon of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, his children, Michael Scanlon of Sugarloaf Key Florida, James Scanlon of Hopkinton Massachusetts, Steven Scanlon of Sugarloaf Key Florida, George and Cindi DIanni of LaGrangeville, NY and Dana Beneway of Murphy, NC. Also his grandchildren Erik Dianni, Steven Scanlon, Emma Scanlon, Luke Scanlon and Avery Scanlon and his best fur friend Whinnie.
Big Mike never met a stranger. He loved to talk to everyone. He enjoyed his life with his wife Cheryl traveling the World. He loved fishing, flying, camping and having parties.
The Family will have a celebration of his life in January of 2024 to remember him and smile.
