

John S. Bower, 77, of Port Charlotte, Florida formerly of Guys Mills, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 of a hemorrhagic stroke at Venice Regional Hospital in Venice, Florida with his wife at his side.
John was born to John Bower, Sr. and Paula Jones Bower in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was later lovingly raised by foster parents Fred and Henrietta (Toots) Wendt.
He married Bobbye Santus Bower on April 13, 1962.
John graduated from Arlington Baptist Seminary with a Bachelor of Divinity degree in 1970. He pastored the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Meadville for 2 years.
John completed a Pennsylvania Tool and Die 4-year apprenticeship and came in second in a National Tool and Die Apprenticeship in Houston, Texas in 1972.. He was employed at various times at AC Machine and Manufacturing, DIC Tool Company, Leech Tool and Die and was a part owner in Integrity Tool and Mold Company, all in the Meadville area retiring in 2010 and relocating to Florida in 2013.
John is survived by his wife Bobbye, his sons Donald (Lisa), Richard, Wesley (Ashley), his grandchildren Deserae Bower, Kaylee Lovett, and Leiland Lovett, his sister Paula Skinner and his two little parakeets that he loved so much. He will be lovingly missed by his entire family and his many brothers and sisters in Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his foster parents and his daughter-in-law, Delia Bower.
There will be no viewing, and a memorial service will be held in February at Northside Christian Church in Englewood, Florida.
