John Thomas Elliott passed away peacefully on April 30th, 2026, at home surrounded by family. He is survived by his daughter Claire and her partner Max; his daughter Janice and husband Cole; and his three grandchildren, Barret, Cameron and John.
John was born January 13th, 1928, in London, England. During World War II he was evacuated to the country after his family home and shop were bombed during the Blitz. He joined the Royal Air Force as soon as he came of age and was deployed to Egypt, Palestine and Cyprus. After his time in the RAF, he went to University for aeronautics and became a stress engineer, moving to Trumbull, Connecticut with his wife, Pamela, and children Phillip and Claire in 1966 to work at Sikorsky.
After many years at Sikorsky, John retired and moved the family to Jupiter, Florida, where he enjoyed playing tennis, working on his sport car, going to the beach and spending time with his family. He and his wife travelled extensively throughout Europe, where they have many relatives and friends.
John and Pam followed their youngest daughter Jan and her family to Cape Haze, Florida to spend more time with their grandchildren, whom he adored.
An exceedingly gentle and kind man, soft-spoken but strong in his values who cherished his family and loved his adopted country, John will be remembered by his family and friends for his generosity, his love of tinkering and design, and for his quiet smile.
