John Albert Heisey

John served in the United States Army prior to attending Northwestern University in Evanston and Chicago, Illinios. He earned three degrees from Northwestern: undergraduate PhB in 1967, Masters in 1970, and PhD in Psychology in 1974.

He was an entrepreneur who started his own technology and management consulting company, Performance Learning Corporation, in 1976. John remained active as the top consultant and company president until his full retirement in 2021.

John was a lifelong learner who enjoyed reading. He also enjoyed boating and travelling, as well as raising and tending orchids and bromeliads.

His penchant for learning led him to become a volunteer interpretive park ranger with the National Park Service, mainly at the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument in New Mexico. Exposure to the dwellings of ancestral pueblo peoples piqued his interest in the histories and cultures of these Native Americans. He served as volunteer at the Park Service for six summer terms.

John was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth Treo Heisey and Howard H. Heisey

Survivors include his daughter Lisa and a son David as well as his wife of 40 years Kathleen.

John’s final resting place will be Madonna Cemetery and Mausoleum in Fort Lee, NJ. No services are scheduled.
