Joyce Lee Dunn

December 21, 1946 – June 19, 2025

Joyce Lee Dunn, 78, of Englewood, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2025. Born in Akron, Ohio, on December 21, 1946, she was the beloved daughter of Herbert and Ona Rector.

Joyce is survived by her son Todd Dunn (Ember) and daughter Suzanne Park (Paul), both of Englewood, FL. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Michaelah Shults (Griffin), Reagan Park, Todd Park (Sarah), Isabella Allport (Zack), Eligio Perez-Dunn, John Perez-Dunn (Fiona), Gabryella Dunn, and Brady Dunn. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Dunn and brother John Rector.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Dunn and daughter Aimee and her sister Joan Freeman.

Joyce married Fred in October 1966 in Ohio, and together they began their journey in Sarasota in 1969 before settling in Englewood in 1971. She devoted her life to early childhood Christian education and was deeply involved in music ministry and church administration for many years. Her faith and dedicated service touched countless lives in the community.

A memorial service celebrating Joyce’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Community Presbyterian Church, 405 S. McCall Rd, Englewood, FL 34223. A fellowship meal will follow immediately after the service at the church.
