

She was born to Daniel T. James and Mary Alice James on August 17, 1936. She met the love of her life, Bob Reece at Custer's Last Stand in Marion, Indiana. They were married on April 5, 1957. They had two daughters, Leah and Laura. After high school, Linda worked as a switchboard operator for Indiana Bell Telephone. Eventually, she went to work at Dana Corporation, where she worked side by side with her husband. Linda retired from Dana after 30 years. Linda enjoyed playing golf. She and Bob spent time playing golf together and with friends. Dancing with Bob was another activity Linda enjoyed. They belonged to the Debonaires Dance Club at one time. She also enjoyed singing. She was a member of her church choir both in Indiana and Florida. She loved watching her grandkids participate in their school activities. She was their biggest cheerleader. In her free time, you could find Linda working her daily crossword puzzle or playing Solitaire. Linda was proceed in death by both of her parents and a sister, Betty Bayless.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert(Bob) Reece, daughters Leah (Flava) Sirk and Laura (Joe) Lenon, three grandchildren Shane Lenon, Kristen (Mike) Guttilla, Kaitlyn (Seth) Sallee, and three great-grandchildren Peyton Sallee, Reagan Sallee,and Tripp Guttilla. Linda is also survived by a niece, Judy Morgan and a nephew, Tom (Kitty) Bayless, as well as, several great nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held on November 2nd at 12:00 at First Baptist Church Venice 312 Miami Ave W. Venice, FL 34285. Visitation with the family will be from 11-12. A reception will follow the memorial for all to attend.
