Madeline Aneta Barrett

Madeline (Maddy) was born and raised in Hull and was married to her grade school sweetheart Harold N. Barrett who predeceased her.

Madeline is survived by her 3 children Linda M. Parent and her husband Edward of Port Charlotte, FL, Michael Barrett of Hingham, MA and Joanne Bolla of Niantic, CT. and her sister Jeannie Chaupetta of Plymouth, MA and her brother Chester (Chet) Gould of The Villages in Ocala, FL.

Madeline also had 3 sisters who predeceased her, Gertrude “Gertie” Hirsch, Edna McDuff and Barbara Haye.

Maddy leaves behind 4 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and many extended family members.

Maddy loved living in Hull in her family home on Kenberma Street. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch and taking long walks on Nantasket Beach. Her cherished memories of the town include watching her kids learn to sail and creating life-long lessons and friendships as members of the Hull Yacht Club.

Maddy was both a server and bartender at many local dining establishments for many years including Helen and Larry’s in Hingham and both Lokies and With Richard’s at West Corner.

Madeline moved to Florida with husband in 1984 and became the Manager of the Woolworths Lunch Counter in Cocoa FL, a position she was very proud of and held for many years before her retirement.

Maddy brought joy and a sense of humor to everyone she touched and will be deeply missed and be kept forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life and interment in the Hull cemetery will be held on June 3, 2027
