Born February 25, 1937, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Hugh and Mabel (Paine) White, Peg spent most of her life in Providence, where she built a life rooted in family, hard work, and the many friendships she formed over the years.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Daniel J., John M., and Michael J. White, and her sisters Patricia A. Flaminio and Linda F. Hendricks. She is survived by her brother, Edward J. White.
Peg worked for many years with the Almacs grocery chain and later with Haxton Bros. Liquors in Providence and Warwick. After retiring, she moved to Englewood, Florida, where she found great joy in caring for and spending time with her grandchildren.
Margaret never met a stranger; anyone who entered her life quickly became a friend in her heart. She was known for her generosity, her devotion to family, and the kindness she showed to those around her.
She is survived by her son, Mark Gaipo (Natalia) of Port Charlotte, Florida; her daughter, Christine Elizabeth Zajda (Kazik) of Englewood, Florida; five grandchildren, Marcus Gaipo, Tyler Gaipo, Kazik M. Zajda (Della), Olivia Zajda, and Lukasz Zajda; and two great-grandsons, Jarek and Luka Zajda.
Her family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by the team at Tidewell Hospice.
In accordance with her wishes, Peg will be cremated. A portion of her remains will be returned to Rhode Island and spread at Beavertail Lighthouse beside the resting place of her sister Linda.
