

“Pat” was born on April 19, 1930, in Kingston, NY, to William Martin and Nellie Brophy Martin. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond T. Schuler (d. 2000), as well as her parents, William and Nellie Martin, and her five siblings.
Pat was a registered nurse, devoted to her patients and their families. Her compassion led her to specialize in pediatric care at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY, and various other hospitals in New York. Pat loved her friends and her community, devoting countless hours of volunteer work with Hospice, the American Cancer Society, and numerous charitable organizations in both New York and Florida. She also was an avid golfer and bridge player. Pat was a member at various country clubs in NY, as well as Lemon Bay Golf Club, Englewood, FL. She was also a member of the Boca Bay Pass Club and a current member of the Boca Grande Club.
Pat was a loving mother and is survived by two daughters and their families, who will miss her: Patricia Anderson (Iver) and Ellen Schuler. Besides her two daughters, Pat was a proud and devoted grandmother to Ryan Anderson (Shirley) Austin, Sarah Anderson Gardner (Tony), Danielle Quaglia Melton (Kolin), Karin Quaglia (Julius Casale), and Colleen Quaglia, Albany, NY. In addition, she was delighted to have five great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Claire Gardner, and Kyrae, Kingston, and Kalani Melton.
Pat’s never-ending smile and humor will be missed by those who knew her, especially her family. At the family’s request, her interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Tidewell Hospice Foundation, 3550 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida 34239. In her spirit, we invite you to carry forward a simple act of kindness.
