

Peter grew up in Uxbridge Mass. He graduated from St. John’s Prep in Shrewsbury in 1966. He continued his education at Worcester Polytechnic Institute graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1970. He followed that degree with a Masters in Metallurgy from University of Connecticut in 1972, a Masters in Systems Management from University of Southern California in 1977 and a Master in Civil Engineering from Marquette University in 2004.
In 1970, Peter married his high school sweetheart, Maryellen FitzGerald. They had three children: Peter, Andrew and Julia. They raised their children in Pittsfield, Mass.
Peter had a forty-five-year career in Engineering. It ranged from working in nuclear submarines in Groton, Conn. to General Electric Aerospace in Pittsfield, Mass. Later in his career, he was
self-employed as a Professional Engineer Consultant in Florida.
Peter was an intelligent, sensitive man who always put his family first. He was a man of few words.
He had a strong faith in God and had a special devotion to the unborn. He was very patriotic and followed politics closely. He was a proud conservative and member of the NRA. He was an avid reader, a World War II buff and had an interest in French.
Most of all he loved his wife and his children. Peter was a devoted husband. He was always dependable and a generous family man. As a husband, Peter always lived their adage “You and me against the world.” As a father, he was committed to his children in all aspects of their lives. He supported them in all their sports, projects and activities. Peter was very proud of the adults that they had become and he was delighted when his grandchildren arrived.
Peter is predeceased by his parents, John and Barbara Lalor and brother, Thomas.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Maryellen and his children: Peter and (Julie) Lalor of Bowling Green Ohio, Andrew and (Lisa Cooper) Lalor of Englewood, Fl, Julia and (Mathew) Sullivan of East Walpole, Mass. and nine grandchildren: Ciara, Struan, Niamh, Ronan, Aoife, Jaxson, Isaac, Declan and Gabriel. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Lalor of Lincolnville Maine, his sister, Jane Murray of Greenfield Mass, his step-mother, Merle Lalor of Uxbridge and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peter will be missed by many but none more than his wife of 54 years, Maryellen.

on Friday, 10/18/24 at 10 am.
There will also be a Celebration of Life at Athy Funeral Home in Worcester, Mass on
October 28, 2024 at 10:30 am. Followed by the burial in St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester, Mass.
