Ronald E Hillyer, age 86 of Venice, Fl passed away Tuesday July 11th, 2023. Ron was originally from Rock Island, IL. He is survived by his wife Marge Hillyer, four sons Dave, Steve, Kevin, Shawn and their mother Sharon, 4 stepchildren, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. His siblings include brothers Dick and Gary, and sisters Beverly and Carlene. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Gladys, and brothers Bob, Kenny, and Paul and stepson Jimmy Wade. Ron was a veteran of the United States Navy where he was stationed on the USS Essex. After his time in the Navy, Ron was a real estate agent with Century 21, then retired from the International Harvester Farmall Plant. Ron then owned and operated a successful lawn service in Venice Fl for many years. Ron loved to take long drives on the weekends to explore the beautiful destinations that Florida has to offer. He was an outstanding father, brother, grandfather and will be missed dearly by all who loved him. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
