Sal Rubera 100, died peacefully at Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born in Hartford, CT, the son of the late Paul and Brigida and stepmother Santina Rubera. He is survived by two sisters; Isabelle Eagleson and Sandy Rubera of Hartford, CT, his daughter Kathie Walker of Boulder City NV, 3 grandchildren, James Rubera of Haverhill, MA, Raymond Deschane of Somersworth, NH and Jennifer Nordstrom of Boulder City, NV, 6 great grandchildren, Hailey and Hayden Nordstrom, Jack and Jessie Rubera and Lucas and RJ Deschane. He was predeceased by his wife Lena Rubera and his son Paul Rubera
He attended N E Hartford High School and was a graduate of Hartford State Trade School where he studied architecture. He was a Veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion, Post 70 of Seabrook. He formally served 2 terms as President of the Lions Club, 2 terms as Commissioner of Seabrook Beach Village District. He was a member of the Seabrook Planning Board and an alternate member of the Seabrook Recreation Department. He worked with architectural firms in Lawrence, MA, Portsmouth, Manchester, Exeter and Stratham, NH. He retired at age 62 years of age. He later opened his own business, Sal Rubera and Son, where they worked as a team designing and building. In his later years he worked as a bridge tender at the Hampton River Bridge. He was an avid reader and an avid Bridge player. He lived a very active life and enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, golf, and tennis. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
