Velma Lee McClain

Heaven gained another angel on October 25, 2022. Velma “Susie” (Lowe) McClain, age 67, lost her battle with breast cancer. She was a loving mother to her two children, whom she shared with her late husband Patrick Scott McClain. She loved to garden, sew, and enjoyed listening to classic country music. Her favorite thing to do was baking in her kitchen and was known for her famous pies. Velma was born in Punta Gorda, Florida on May 3, 1955. She made her home in Venice, Florida and enjoyed many years working for the bank. Velma was preceded in death by her mother Thelma (Dampier) Lowe, her brothers Edward “Eddie” Lowe, Larry Lowe, and Henry Lowe. She leaves behind a large and loving family, her children: Patrick McClain and Delma McClain, grandchildren: Elana, Eric, Astasia, Riley and Patrick, brothers: Riley Lowe, William E. Lowe, Kenneth E. Lowe, and a sister Linda L. Lowe and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. There will be a Celebration of Life on November 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Kays Ponger and Uselton Funeral Home, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail 34293 in Venice, Florida.
