William Nelson Collins

It is with great sadness I share the loss of William Nelson Collins, born on October 21, 1958 in Memphis, TN and passed away on January 5, 2026 at the age of 67 in Englewood, Fla. Bill passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by love.

Bill carried great faith and courage. He held onto his late wife’s last words; “Bill, don’t worry about a thing, just wait until you see”. He held on to her last words and lived his life by them. On the day he died, he shared his faith with our friends of how he was not afraid of death and that he was ready to go meet our Creator.

Bill was a retired truck driver, blessed with the gift of music. As a musician, Bill was able to unite and connect with people on a level that was truly amazing. He was an incredible guitar player and singer. Bills hobbies included riding motorcycles, camping, kayaking, riding the golf cart to the sunset and dolphin watching.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Virginia Collins, younger sister Beth Loveless, step siblings David Hall and Karen Lohse as well as several other extended family members.

Bill is survived by his older brother Robert “Bobby” Collins, a son, several nieces and nephews as well as his Partner in Life, Wendy Hetrick, her children and shared grandchildren.
