Alice June McNeil

Alice June McNeil passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. She was born in Lodi, California on March 15, 1929. Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ken McNeil, who passed away in 1992. She and Ken lived in Ventura, California, moving to Lake Tahoe in 1967. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, entertaining and made the best apple pies. Alice spent many years volunteering with the Auxiliary at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe.

Alice moved to Minden, Nevada and last year became a resident at Autumn Years in Ojai, California, where she made many new friends and happily was the queen of bingo and scrabble. Alice was very active and especially enjoyed arranging flowers.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Smith, of Chico, CA; sister, Lois Ratto, of Stockton, CA; son, Michael McNeil and wife, Karen, of Ojai, CA; son, Fred McNeil and wife, Nancy, of Diablo, CA; grandchildren, Bryan McNeil, of Ventura, CA, Nathan McNeil, of Ventura, CA, Derek McNeil, of San Mateo, CA, and Rachel McNeil, of Belmont, CA; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
