Anjay Christian Mahabir April 2, 2001 - January 3, 2019

Loved and adored son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend. Anjay was a creative, loving, intelligent young man. He had a smile worth a thousand words, if you were lucky enough to witness it. He was an old soul with knowledge beyond his years.

Anjay was born in Orange County but raised in Venice, California, where he lived with his mother Emily until 2008. They then moved to Ventura, where he lived with his mother and younger brother Liam for the remainder of his short time on this earth.

From the day he was born, Anjay made it known that he was not a rule-follower. He loved to push the limits and defy the norm. Skating, music, art, graffiti, and street-wear were some of his interests. He loved spending time with his friends in his hometown, Ventura, California.

Anjay, although you have left us way too soon, we know that you are in a better place where your soul can rest. The memory of your free-spirit will be with us always. We love and miss you dearly.

Our dear friend Anjay, you will forever be in our hearts. We miss you so much. From the very first day we met you I knew you and Evan would be best friends. We will cherish your presents. We will cherish your laugh. We will cherish your smile and carry it on forever. We will cherish the nights you spent at our house that you never wanted to leave. Anjay, god has taken you too soon but that only proves he had a special place in Heaven for you. Rest peacefully, we love you. Emily and Dino are in our thoughts and prayers everyday. God bless you.

Anjay and my son, Evan, met in kindergarten and instantly bonded. From that day on their friendship would carry them through elementary school, middle school and high school. I watched them go from little boys to handsome young men. Anjay was one of Evans very best friends. Anjay was always respectful, polite, sweet and a pleasure to have over. More importantly, Anjay was the friend Evan could always count on, no matter what! I remember Anjays laugh and of course, he's beautiful smile. I am so thankful we had Anjay in our lives and grateful for the genuinely true friend he was to Evan. He was a positive influence, he was a great musician, and a very important friend. Anjay you will be in our hearts forever and terribly missed. My thoughts and prayers to Emily and the rest of his family.

Anjay I watched you come into this world fierce! I’ll never forget being at your birth, you were the first and you always will be. When looking at names for you we came across Anjay which means ‘unconquerable’ and that’s you....
I’ll miss you so BIG but I’ll only think of you free & happy. I love you buddy, you remain in our hearts forever. ✨

I remember when I was asked to cut Anjay's hair. He was sooooo shy and sweet. I am so sorry for the loss of this beautiful soul. I pray for his father, Dino. My brother truly loved Anjay and protected him fiercely. God bless our family.💜 We'll see him soon but until then, let's learn to forgive and love one another.

I didn't know my little cousin that well but that doesn't mean I don't feel sorry and hurt for my family. I am truly sorry for your loss and I am praying for your healing.
