Barbara Jane Mckinney

Barbara J. “Bobbie” McKinney passed peacefully from this life on Sunday May 22, 2011 at the age of 85 after a brief illness. She was born on April 3, 1926, to Walter and Mary Bulger in East Liverpool, Ohio.

For the past 18 years “Bobbie” McKinney resided in La Conchita, Ventura County, having moved there from Burbank, CA.

Always active, Bobbie was a member of the Santa Barbara Rose and Fuchsia Societies, Delta Gamma Sorority, and the La Conchita Busy Bees. She loved gardening, travel, antique shopping, cooking, dominoes, knitting, and bird watching.

She is survived by her two daughters; Merri Alexander and Janet Cathcart, Son-in-laws; Sam Alexander and Tom Cathcart, and Grandchildren; Meghan Alexander, Danny Alexander and Amanda Alexander, all of Seattle, Washington, and Bobbie’s longtime companion, Tom Jordan, of La Conchita, California.

The family wishes to thank Vitas Hospice and Bobbies’ compassionate caregiver, Janel. Bobbie will return to her birthplace, East Liverpool, Ohio, for interment at Riverview Cemetery on Thursday, June 2, 2011. A celebration of her life will be held in La Conchita on June 11, 2011.
