

Bernadine K. Steeno, age 92, passed away, unexpectedly Thursday, July 12, 2012 in Ventura. Bernadine resided at Cypress Place Assisted Living community in Ventura at the time of her passing.
A long time county resident, Bernadine was born November 15, 1919 in Rib Lake, Wisconsin moving to Glendale, CA in 1936 and to Ventura County in 1942. Bernadine married Robert R. Steeno in June 1936 in Rib Lake, Wisconsin.
Bernadine was an accountant for the Shultz News Company in Ventura. She enjoyed playing Bingo, cards and other table games and they loved camping in the High Sierras. Upon retiring in the mid-1970’s Bernie and her husband Robert moved to Grass Valley, CA, fulfilling their life-long dream of living in the foothills of the Sierra gold country for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Robert R. Steeno in 1998 and infant son, Allen Steeno in 1943.
Bernadine is survived by her sons, Cary D. Steeno and wife Pat of Ventura and William R. Steeno and wife Linda, recent transplants to Idaho; five granddaughters, LaDene Morrison and husband Charles of Ventura, Tammy Steeno of Oakview, Shannon Patten and husband Matt of Washington, Kindra May and husband Jeff of Idaho and Sundry Steeno of Ventura; nine great grandchildren, Jessica Morrison, Mike Morrison and Scott Morrison all of Ventura, Justin Welch and wife Lindsey of Ojai and Cassidy Welch of Texas, Dylan, Riley and Madison May of Idaho and Brandon Patten of Washington; great-great granddaughter Ava Blau of Ventura and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the U.S.
There will be a graveside service for Bernadine 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.
