Beverly Winfrey went home to be with the Lord November 26, 2010. She was born September 2, 1921 in Berwick, Pennsylvania to Prudence Elmira and Jay McClellan Bellis. She met her husband of 66 years while working at a Department Store in Bristol, Pa. She knew he was the man for her and was bound and determined to win his heart. They were married in 1945 and shortly after moved to California.
Beverly spent most of her years as a homemaker. She took great pride in her home and devoted herself to her family. There was always a home cooked meal waiting after a long day of work and school.
As the years passed, through life’s many smiles and tears she was never to busy to give of herself with a caring gesture, a warm hug, or just an understanding smile. Her many sacrifices did not go unnoticed. These warm memories will always be cherished and live on in our hearts and throughout our lives.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband “Bill”; her daughters Melody Aldrich, June Connick, son Robert Winfrey, grandchildren Glen (wife Kim), Eric (wife Andreya), James, Jason, Anne Maree, Russell, David, great grandson Elijah, two sisters and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Angie, Linda and Olivia for all the loving care given to Beverly.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, November 30, 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, Dec.1st also at the Charles Carroll Funeral Home with The Reverend Dan Hull officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
