He was born on July 12, 1934, in Direct, Texas to Eugene and Nevell Hawley. Bobby moved to Bakersfield, CA. in 1950 and joined the Navy in 1952. He received an Honorable Discharge in late 1955 and began his career in the Oil Fields.
During his 48 year career, Bobby worked in many areas of California and Nevada. In his retirement years, he loved taking his boat to the local lakes to enjoy a day of fishing with his children and grandchildren. Bobby and Pat enjoyed attending many of their children and grand-kids sporting and musical events. When possible he would go to watch his favorite team, the Dodgers and the local minor league team the Mavericks, play a game of baseball with his wife, children, grandchildren and brother.
Bobby was surprised with an 80th birthday party, and said, “That was the best birthday he ever had.” He attended church when possible and was a believer in God. Bobby loved listening to his wife and all the children play the piano and guitar and enjoyed singing along with them. His family will miss him greatly and will cherish the wonderful memories.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one great granddaughter, Alexus; one brother, one sister, and unnamed twins.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patsy Jo (Dorton) Hawley of Apple Valley, CA; sons, Bobby and wife Amy Hawley, Jr. of Victorville, CA, Lee and wife Lisa Hawley of Ventura, CA; daughters, Sherri and husband Pete Swauger of Pahrump, NV, Darla Hawley of DuBois, PA and Cleadis Avita of Apple Valley, CA.
