Brenda J. Homb

Brenda Jane Homb, of Ventura, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at the age of 46. She was born April 16, 1966, in Los Angeles, grew up in the San Fernando Valley and moved to Ventura in 1992. After high school Brenda attended Pierce College and graduated from Watterson College Pacific as a medical assistant in 1994.

She worked at Community Memorial Hospital as a unit secretary, but the real love of her life was working with children while she was employed at the Montessori Learning Center in Ventura.

She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Karl; daughters, Jessica Wardell, Katelynn Homb and Klaire Homb; parents, Beverly Ludemann and Charles Ferry; sister, Deanna Dobbins, and brother, Daniel Ferry, plus numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Julie Bennett on May 16, 1975.

A memorial service celebrating Brenda’s life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013, 3:00 P.M. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. This will be followed by a memorial reception at the Poinsettia Pavilion, 3451 Foothill Road, Ventura, at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers an educational memorial fund was established in Brenda’s name at Santa Barbara Bank and Trust, 250 South Mills Road, Ventura, 93003, Account Number 0030103279.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura.
