Charles "Chuck" Daniel Collins

It is with great sadness and fondest memories that the family of Charles "Chuck" Collins announce his passing after a long illness on November 7, 2018. He was born on December 3, 1946, in Ventura, to James Charles Collins and Gladys Irene Collins.

Chuck will be lovingly remembered by Susan, his wife of 37 years, and seven children, 14 grandchildren and seven great -grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers and was predeceased by two sisters.

Chuck attended Santa Paula High School and Santa Barbara City College. He spent 29 years working for Texaco in Santa Maria and Santa Paula. The final 15 years of his career were spent working for contractors at the Port Hueneme Construction Battalion Base.

He was keenly interested in politics and was passionate about human rights. Chuck was a strong advocate of humane treatment of animals as well. His favorite pastime was fishing. He was a long time member of Ventura Rest and Aspirations Club.

I grew up with the Collins boys. Ronald, Donald, Charles and Snookie. They lived in the 700 camp and we lived in the 800 camp on the Limoneira Ranch. I sat next to Charles on the school bus many times. My dad and the Collins dad rode together to work at Port Hueneme Navel Base. I live in the state of Georgia now.
