Sloane, I just learned of you Dad's passing.  He was truly a wonderful talent as well as a friend.  His humor was truly unique.  He will be missed by many people.

Happy Birthday David.  You are in my thoughts always and I feel your presense often; I miss being able to pick up the phone and talk you -- and I miss all the fun times. Please watch over your loved ones from heaven and keep them safe.

Dave was one of the most talented puppeteers and character creators in the business.  In the mid-80's we did a comedy pilot, "That's Funny," with Fred Willard and Chuck McCann.  Dave even participated with his puppets doing a bit with Bruce one year at the Golden Boot Awards, which he always attended.  Later, he and I rode many trails together all over southern California and team penned together every week until he moved to Nashville in the early 90's.  He loved westerns and was passionate about the business.
It's a shock but he will always be remembered for his fellowship, talent and kindness. Rob Word

David was my basketball hero when he was in high school.  He was always so nice. He always told me that my eyes were the most beautiful he had ever seen and that he drew them often from memory.  What a wonderful gift and special talent he had.  God Bless You and the family.

Sloane and family- you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I'll always treasure the picture your Dad did for our "Friends" group. What a special gift from someone so talented. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

I was stunned to hear of Dave's passing.  It was an absolutely amazing experience working with him at Peppercorn in Nashville.

I always appreciated that Dave trusted me enough and thought enough of my abilities to use me as a lead performer during his TNN days, even though we'd only met once before.  And his trust went even further as he let me ad lib like crazy with Sinker.

I hope that Amy, Sloane, and the rest of family will get out some of Dave's work in the future, pop it in, and be able to experience the intense joy and love he had for his creations.  And to see someone who was doing what he loved.

A unique fella, a unique style; his talents will be greatly missed.

Dear Amy, Sloane and family,

I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He was a gifted and unique artist who gave me many wonderful opportunities for which I'll always be grateful. 

I have fond memories of the work the group of us at Peppercorn Productions created together during his time in Nashville. 

Dave's performance as Grandpa Beasley was priceless, and it was a joy to perform alongside him with his foam and fur creations Tightline, Sinker and Stinkbait. I never thought I'd puppeteer a redneck fisherman puppet while flying full speed across a lake in a bass boat... but Dave made that possible!

Happy Trails Dave, and as Grandpa use to say , "oh...about 4:30." 

He'll know what that means.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Dave. We were at Muddy Grade School together and played basketball and then he always amazed me with his talents. My condolence goes out to his family and his Mother.

I can't believe David is gone. I have known him for over 18 years.

 He was so in love with his sweet daughters and grandchildren.  They were so much a part of his life.  Many times I have said he is such a wonderful grandfather.  He constantly talked about his grandchildren and how he enjoyed them so much. He lived for those weekends when he could have his "boys" over and have them jump in his pool and take them to their favorite movies. 

David was the most incredible cowboy I ever met.  His love and caring for his horses was never ending.  He had a way with horses.  They understood him and they loved him.  David was an unbelievable rider and I enjoyed watching  him in action.  It was as if he was one with them.  He was the best dad any horse could have had.

David was my mentor when it came to art.  He so influenced me with his positiveness and  exceptance of my work.  I can remember being so excited after I had finished a piece of my art work.  I would drive  over to his house and have him come out to my car to view my piece.  He would give me the congratulations every artist needs from their artist friend.   David was an artist and creator from his childhood.  I was a creator from my adulthood.  I so appreciated his acceptance.  

I can't tell you how many times I think of his wonderful laughter and his joking personality.  He truly did enjoy many aspects of life.

He was a true friend and I will always remember him and his love of life.

Dave was such an amazing friend to my father, Jim Cook. Who would have thought that these two Southern Illinois childhood friends would have been able to live so close to each other 50 years later? Dave was a brother to my dad once had had lost his. Our prayers and our love to all.

Dave and I graduated from high school together. I remember watching him play basketball. I can see his smile and hear his great sense of humor. I have a picture of 4 of us from the class of 1963 having a good time listening to him tell a story. His achievements make Harrisburg, Illinois people proud. I am so saddened. My deepest sympathy to the Pavelonis family.  David was a very talented person and I'm sure he will be sorely missed by all. David was a year younger than I in high school but I have many fond memories of him.

I did not know David - however I was married to Gene Pavelonis - I think he would be his nephew.  May God bless you and your family - Gene and I had 3 sons - one who passed away last year - he was 46.

I just heard about David, I am shocked and can't believe he is gone. Dave was such a great tallented guy. My prayers are with you now.
