Dorothy H Wetterer

Dorothy graduated from Schurz High School in Chicago in 1932, in the depths of the depression, but found a job at Montgomery Ward in Chicago. In June of 1937, she married Arthur Walter Wetterer in Chicago. The couple moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where her husband worked for the House of Vision. All three of her sons, Keith, Richard and Brent were born there. In 1953, the family moved to Great Falls, Montana. They relocated to Des Moines, Iowa in 1955, and to Palo Alto, California in 1956. In Palo Alto, she rejoined the work force working in retail at the Emporium and Woolworth's. After living in Palo Alto for almost 20 years, they retired. After a short sojourn in Mi-Wuk, California, they settled in Ventura.

In Ventura, Dorothy was active in golf and Trinity Lutheran Church. Her husband preceded her in death on September 17, 2010. She is survived by her sons Keith and Richard and granddaughter Sandra.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 9th, 2 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 196 North Ashwood Ave., Ventura, with Pastor David Hall officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura, where a viewing will take place from 10 AM until Noon, prior to the service.

Burial will take place in Riverside National Cemetery.
