Edna Lee Kraft (Herrin) woke in the home of her spiritual heart and to the face of her Savior on 09 Nov 2016. She passed from this life to eternity at the age of 85, proceeded in death by her devoted husband Paul who no doubt greeted his “Baby” and oriented her to a new life of no pain, suffering, regret or hurt-filled tears.
Edna is survived by her children Darryl, Charles (Chuckie), Diana, and Donna; each of Gram’s “favorite” (all 13 of them) grandchildren, and ten great-grand ‘littles’ will remember her as a doting, adoring, and face smooching champion in their lives. She was a constant proponent of her family. She wished for them happiness, success, and to be at her side as individuals and as part of great family gatherings. She marveled and loved on her “kids” – and they were all HER kids- treating each one as a treasure.
Edna’s story began in Moffitt, Oklahoma in 1931 with her parents Ruben and Madge Herrin and her six (6) brothers and two (2) sisters. She traveled with them to San Diego, CA, where she met the love of her life, Paul. This couple became a devoted married team of life-loves on 21 Dec 1958; Paul’s “Sugar Baby” was everyone’s adored source of huge hugs, contagious laughter, and bright smiles.
They initially set up their home in San Diego and shortly after moved and settled into Ventura County in 1959 where they finally established their 57-year tenure and final residence in Oxnard.
Edna leaves a physical gap in our family. However, she tended the hearts of her family and friends seeding them with memories, stories, and life lessons. Enough for us to be content until we see her again dancing in anticipation of each member’s arrival and in anticipation of viewing what she has made into the cleanest golden street in heaven’s glory.
Services for Edna will be held at the Charles Carroll Funeral home on Sunday the 20th of November; 12:30 PM. The viewing for Edna will be Saturday the 19th from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
