

Elaine Marjorie Stinson, 83, died Sunday February 20, 2011. She was born July 28, 1927 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Gilbert Lunde and Olava Larsen Lunde, and had resided in Ventura, California 37 years.
Elaine graduated from Pasco High School, in Pasco, Wash. in 1945. In May 1948 she married Virgil Elvan Stinson in Spokane, Washington. In 1957 the couple moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where daughters Cheryl Lee Stinson and Lori Ann Stinson were born. In 1963, the family moved to Sylmar, Calif. where Virgil went to work at Atomics International and Elaine first became a homemaker and then went to work for San Fernando Electric.
In 1974 the family moved to Ventura. Elaine retired from work at the county government center and became a full time homemaker. The family became active members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ventura where Elaine volunteered in many ways including: church office work, Mary Martha bereavement committee, Vacation Bible School, and Family to Family. Additionally she volunteered for the County Fair, VASA lodge, and Sons of Norway. She was also a member of the Professional Business Women’s Group in Ventura.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil; daughters, Cheryl Stinson and Lori Stinson; son-in-law, Wes Morrow; and grandson, Aidan Morrow.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ventura on Sunday February 27 at 1:00. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the American Cancer Society or to Trinity Lutheran Church.
