On November 11, 1947 she married Bradford Cushing, the love of her life. They had four children and Evelyn was so proud to be a mother. Her family and friends were her priority and there was always a card from her for birthdays and holidays. She gave to them generously along with many charities. Evelyn worked as a young person in a pottery factory and also in a hardware store. When her babies were little she addressed envelopes as a job at home and later as extra help at the Post Office at Christmas time. After her children were in school she began working in the school cafeteria. She worked her way up to become the manager of West Covina High School cafeteria along with being over a satellite kitchen for many elementary schools. It was hard work but she was always a hard worker.
