Frederick Fiore Sessa

Fred was born on December 15, 1930 to Michael and Antonia Sessa of Chicago. As a teen he attained the Eagle Scout ranking with Boy Scouts of America. In 1949 he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge in 1954, he met his beautiful wife Lea and they settled in Canoga Park. They had three children and in 1964 the family moved to Ventura. He was employed by various sheet-metal companies in Ventura County for over 30 years. During this time he volunteered as a reserve Deputy Sheriff retiring as Captain. In 1979 he started his own business Sessa Sheet Metal . Incorporated in 1984, Sessa Manufacturing became a family business with many dedicated employees. He retired at the age of 70.

Fred enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and working with his hands. Though he made his living in the metal trade, he loved working with wood and spent countless hours on home projects for his wife and children. Fred was such a good man, easy-going, a great sense of humor, and welcoming to all. He enjoyed a good cigar, a glass of vino, and loved to dance. Even during his year-long battle with cancer, Fred would not miss the opportunity to kick up his heels on the dance floor. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Michael and Antonia Sessa and brothers; Anthony, Michael and Robert.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lea Sessa; his daughter, Antonia Lake and her husband Brent; his sons, Michael Jay Sessa and his wife Jonette, and Angelo John Sessa and his wife Karen. He also leaves behind his grandchildren; Michael, Taryn and Brent Gerome, and Angelo, Christina, Jonathan and Burton Sessa, his brother Joseph Sessa and his wife Marcia, and his Sister Trish Pyron and her husband David.

There will be a celebration of life at the Sessa Home on Friday, October 14th at 12 pm. Private services will be held at a later date.
