Gabina Sanchez Escobar

A lifetime resident of Ventura County, Gabby was born January 17, 1940, in El Rio, CA, to Rufino and Esperanza Sanchez. Throughout her life Gabby attended the Santa Clara Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, gardening, thrift store shopping, and most of all spending time with her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufino and Esperanza Sanchez; sisters, Henrietta Souice, and Patricia Ann Salinas; and brothers, Alvino Sanchez, and Rufino Sanchez Jr.

Gabby is survived by her sisters, Ruth and Jose Sanchez of Malibu, CA, Mary Jane and Bruce Simmons of Kent, WA; children, Peter A. and Tara Riddle-Escobar of Beverlywood, CA, Veronica and Doug Grevenstuk of De Motte, IN; grandchildren, Monique and Bob Miligan, Lynnsey and Mark Furman of Mt. Vernon, OH, Courtney and Brian Oliphant, Amanda Grevenstuk of Indianapolis, IN, and David Grevenstuk of De Motte, IN; great grandchildren, Tyler and Mathew Miligan, Alyssa, Alina and Kaden Furman.

A public visitation will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016, from 4:00 – 7:30 P.M., at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, CA. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 6:00 P.M.

Funeral Mass for Gabby will be held at Santa Clara Catholic Church, 323 South E Street, Oxnard, CA, Friday, September 30, 2016, 10:00 A.M., burial will immediately follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 North H Street, Oxnard, CA.
