

95. Born in Los Angeles on May 30, 1920, Jerry was a longtime Ventura resident and a graduate of Ventura High School. Jerry will be remembered for his generosity to his family and friends.
While working at the Montgomery Ward store in Ventura, Jerry met his future wife Joy Leach. They were married on March 25, 1939, beginning more than 62 years of marriage. They had one daughter. Pamela.
As a part of the Greatest Generation. Jerry served in World War Two in the Asian Pacific Theatre and later as a part of General MacArthur's staff during the occupation of Japan. One of his favorite memories was being stationed at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. After returning from World War Two, he worked in the Ventura oil fields, for the Ventura County Assessor 's office, a title company, and as a State Farm agent for 36 years. He proudly served several terms as a Ventura City Councilman with mayor Charlie Petit. Jerry also helped found Ventura 's Westland Savings & Loan, which later became part of the World Savings & Loan Bank, with good friends Bob Lagomarsino and Irv Kline.
He was a past member of the Ventura Shrine Club and a 32°d Degree Mason with the Poinsettia (now Channel Islands) Masonic Lodge.
Jerry is survived by his daughter Pamela (Wayne) Reddekopp, grandsons Daryl Cruser and Bruce (Heather) Cruser, sister-in-law Nancy Farrar. nephews: Michael (Pam) McKinney and Matthew (Nicole) Farrar, and Nieces Sandra Holman, Susan (Dave) Edwards, and Stephanie (A.J.) Hubner. He is predeceased by his father Wilfred Farrar, mother Ida Farrar, wife Joy Farrar, sister Daphne McKinney, and brother Arthur "A.J." Farrar.
The family would like to extend thanks to everyone at Assisted Home Health and Hospice Services who helped Jerry in his later years, especially Priscilla and Jada.
