Geraldine King

“Well done, good and faithful servant” were probably the first words our sweet mom heard as she entered into the presence of her Savior on Sunday, May 27, 2012. Her faith, love, and generosity defined her life.

Gerry was born in Ohio on September 8, 1927. She met the love of her life, Dale, in Indiana while she was studying nursing and he was attending medical school. They were married on October 18, 1947, and raised six children together. After the family moved to California in 1958, Dale started his medical practice in Ojai. The couple celebrated 54 years of marriage before Dad went to his heavenly home in 2001.

Gerry was very active in their church and played a vital role in Christian Women’s Club for over 40 years. Her service was not out of a sense of duty, but from an incredible love for Christ.

She is survived by her children, Randy King (Glenda), Ojai; Craig King (Sherie), Tucson, AZ; Charlene Hartenstein (Ken), Ojai; David King (Misty), Valencia; and Michelle King, Redmond, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, and son, Keith King. Gerry also leaves eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service for Gerry at First Baptist Church of Ojai, 930 Grand Ave. on Saturday, June 16th, 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to World Vision.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura.
