

Jack was born in Bakersfield, CA and grew up in Earlimart, CA. He attended and graduated from Delano High School in 1956. Jack relocated to Ventura in 1959. As a young man, Jack worked in the local oil fields. Later in life he worked as a delivery salesman for Knudsen Dairy and Laura Scudder Foods.
Following retirement, Jack and his wife Joan spent time traveling and visiting family across the United States. They also went on various cruises together.
He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsmen. Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with friends and family. He was an N.R.A. instructor, helping to teach young people gun safety. He was a member of Quail Forever, The Ojai Gun Club, and the Historical Arms and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Jack was also a member of The Ventura Elks Lodge #1430.
Jack was a good and kind man, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie and Abe; and brother, Tom. Jack is survived by his wife Joan; sons, Todd and Stephen; daughters, Tonja (Larry), Anna and Stephanie; grandchildren, Nicholas (Dana), Casey, Kate, Ryan, Michael, and Mandi; great-grandchildren, Colt, Piper, Sarah, Emily and Laura. He is also survived by sisters, Geraldine, Jean and Kay; brothers, Bob and Bill; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Jack will be held at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura, on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Mark Dornbusch officiating
