Janeen Sue Rhodes

Janeen Sue Rhodes, of Ventura, California, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from complications after a recent stroke. She was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on February 10, 1940 and has lived in the Thousand Oaks / Ventura area for more than 40 years.

Janeen was a loving mother, partner, and friend with a zest for life. She served as the president of the community shuffleboard club and found great joy in her camaraderie, card games, and conversations with dear friends.

Prior to retirement, Janeen enjoyed a meaningful career as a certified phlebotomist, working in various hospitals and laboratories throughout the region.

She is survived by her loving partner of 27 years, Gordon Berthiaume of Ventura, CA; her devoted sons, Scott of San Diego, CA, Steven of Reno, NV, and Spencer Rhodes of South Lake Tahoe, CA; four grandchildren, Christina, Kelsey, Madison, and Autumn Rhodes; one great-granddaughter, McKayla; relatives and friends near and far; and her beloved cat.

The family is hosting a celebration of life on Saturday, December 23, 2017, 5:00 PM, at Ted Mayr Funeral Home 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, CA 93003, with a reception following the service.
