

On the morning of Friday, November 6, Jeffrey Brian Ledbetter passed away at 7am. It was a peaceful passing. His mother and fiancé were with him as he passed, from their loving arms into Gods. Jeffery was born May 19, 1966 in Santa Barbara, California to his loving mother, Melaine J. Smith (Keaser) and William D. Ledbetter. Jeffrey had a very active and happy childhood with his mother, grandparents and other family members, who all loved him dearly. He loved the ocean and spent much of his time at the beach and enjoyed many boating and fishing trips. He was skilled at spear fishing at a young age, his love of the ocean stayed with him his whole life. He owned two boats, one of which he built, with the help of his friends. He also loved surfing, skiing and golf. Jeffrey was a hard worker, starting at a young age with a large paper route in the San Roque neighborhood of Sana Barbara. He held many jobs including Granite and Penhall. He also helped with construction on his mother’s beautiful home in Northern California. Jeffrey was a very social and outgoing person who had countless friends that loved him. He was a kind and generous man who always helped others, in any way he could. Sometimes spending his last dollar to buy a meal for a homeless person he had never met before.
He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Charles R. and Shirley J. Keaser of Ventura, William and Lena Ledbetter of Lompoc.
He is survived by his mother, Melaine June (Elwood Smith) of Oakland, CA and his father, William D. (Cheri) Ledbetter; his uncles, Paul A. and Mark R. Keaser; aunt, Sandy Keaser, aunt Gail Oldenkamp; fiancé, Samantha Peretiako and her 4 children; plus many cousins.
Arrangements are under the direction of Charles Carroll Funeral Home, Ventura. Celebration of life for Jeffrey will be help on Monday, November 23 at 6pm in the chapel at Charles Carroll Funeral Home. Jeffery will be laid to rest at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura, CA.
