

Joey was born August 12, 1972, in Modesto and had been a resident of Ventura for the past 20 years. He graduated from Oakdale High School in Oakdale, CA, where he was on the wrestling team. Joey was a plumber and had been employed with Affordable Plumbing in Ventura. He attended Our Lady of the Assumption Church and was a member of the Elks Lodge, and Turning Point Foundation Softball Team. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many hours deep sea fishing, camping, waterskiing and snowboarding. He also enjoyed go-cart racing and playing Texas hold’em.
Joey is survived by his mother Dianne Piccinini of Ventura; grandmothers Aileen Combs of Modesto and Joan Davis of Ventura; brother and fiancée, Jonathan Piccinini and Taylor of Oakdale; brother and sister-in-law, John Jeffrey and Mistie Combs of Valley Home; niece Avery Combs; uncles, Randy Combs of Modesto, Ricky Combs of Hawaii, Richard Davis of Quincy and Darryl Erickson of Ventura; cousin Eric Erickson of Ventura; aunt Debra Buckner (Tom) and cousin, Shayla Buckner of Ventura; as well as many other cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Combs, his step-father, John Piccinini; grandfathers, Richard Davis and Kenneth Combs.
Visitation will take place Friday, November 14, 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. with Rosary being recited 7:00 P.M. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. Catholic Prayer Services will be Saturday, November 15, 5:00 P.M. also at the funeral home.
