John Valenzuela, a long-time resident of Ventura, Ca. passed away on Friday Sept. 20th after a lengthy illness. He was born in Arcadia, Ca. He was the son of Dario and Antonia Valenzuela. He was an Army Veteran, who was part of the Infantry Deadeye Division. He fought in WWII and was stationed in the Pacific. He received The Purple Star and The Brass Star, for Top Rifleman and Honorable Service. He was a Civilian Employee at the NCBC Naval Base, Port Hueneme, Ca. as an Inspector of Household Goods for 37 years. He was also a Deacon at the Ventura Baptist Temple. He was part of the NCBC Bowling League. He loved to play golf. He enjoyed his Dodgers, Rams, Lakers, Kings, USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins. He really loved listening to his music. He is survived by his dear, loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Minnie Valenzuela, his daughter Gloria, his son Dario, two granddaughters: Yvonne Gomes and Debbie White; his great grandson Patrick, great granddaughter Laura and 4 great, great grandkids; along with many other nephews, nieces, family and friends. He also had another great grandson Stephen who's now with his Papa John in heaven. John is the last sibbling of four brothers, Joe, Freddy, Roy, Robert and two sisters, Alice and Mary. The family is now whole again and are having one big family reunion party in Heaven. John Valenzuela was a good, loving person who lived a long wonderful life and he taught us all to do the right thing, about love and life. He will be missed until we all meet again in heaven with the Lord.... God Bless You Papa John and God Bless us all.....
