Jonathan M. Harrel

The Reverend Jonathan M. Harrel, 85, of Ventura, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, following a prolonged illness. Jonathan was born February 27, 1926, in Anthony, Kansas, to Jonathan and Ruth Hewitt Harrel. He had been a Ventura County resident for over twenty-five years, coming from Canoga Park where he had pastored Calvary Chapel of Reseda for twenty-seven years. He continued to pastor at several local churches until his retirement in 1997.

Jonathan is survived by his wife of 64 years, Norma Harrel; sons, Marcus, Stephen and Kevin Harrel; daughter, Karen Davenport; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will take place Friday, February 3, 2012, 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday February 4, 10:00 A.M. at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen Street, Chatsworth. The memorial service will also be held on Saturday, February 4, at 12:30 P.M., at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
