Judith Ann Weaver, 71, passed away in her home after a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends on October 23, 2014. Judi was preceded in death by her husband, John M. “Mike” Weaver, and her parents, Norman Rehm and Bette Lowe Miller.
A life-long resident of California, Judi was born in Glendale on December 21, 1942, and graduated from North Hollywood High School in 1960. As someone who valued the importance of education, later in life Judi returned to college to get her Bachelor’s degree from Cal Lutheran University.
Judi moved to Ventura in the late 1960s and then settled in Oak View, CA, in 1974. Judi loved living in rural community where she had the opportunity to have horses, participate in 4-H and Girl Scouting with her children. In 1998, Judi moved to Oxnard Shores to realize her dream of living near the ocean.
Judi retired in 2009 after working for many years in the accounting profession, both locally and for the motion picture industry, where she was part of the accounting department for such movies as “Cast Away” and “Titanic.” In her retirement, Judi took up quilting, but her biggest enjoyment was spoiling her grandchildren. Judi was a great mom, wife, grandma, sister, daughter and friend, and all who knew her will miss her.
Judi is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Shona Marrs of Ojai; daughter, Joanne Marrs of Oxnard; step-children, Tim and Nannette Weaver of Glendale, Arizona, and Sandi and Tony Uribe of Ventura; her sister, Wendy Rehm Harnett; nephew, Ryan Hartnett; five grandchildren Makenna Marrs, Delaney Marrs, Asia VanAken, Bella VanAken and Graceson Marrs.
Services for Judi will be held 10 AM, Saturday, November 1, 2014, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, Ca.
In lieu of flowers and cards, please consider making a donation in her name to either the Boys and Girls Club of Ventura (www.bgclubventura.org/) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org)
