Kenneth Eugene Dole

He graduated from University of Miami, Ohio, and was immediately employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber until the mid1960s when he transferred to General Tire and Rubber and moved to Ventura. In 1971, Ken established Factory Tire Outlet on Front Street, Ventura, California, and successfully retired in the late 1990s.

Ken was a 32nd Degree Mason and had been a member of the Garfield Lodge, #559, F&AM, of Pennsylvania since1953, and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a member and former President of the Ventura Chamber of Commerce and of the Ventura Trade Club and a member of the Rest and Aspiration Society. Ken served many years on the Ventura Planning Commission.

Ken enjoyed traveling whether it was to visit family or support his grandchildrens’ activities. He was an avid golfer and participated in the golf tournaments across the country with R and A Golf.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Dole of Ventura. He was extremely proud of his children and is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Doug Blakley, of New River, AZ; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bryan Probasco of Ventura, CA; son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Pattie Dole of Spokane, WA. Ken adored his grandchildren, Cara, Scott, Kurt, Travis, and Jennie, as well as his great grandchildren Jason, Sloane, Easton, Colby, and Olivia.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Jessie Dole, and his grandson Jacob Dole (JD) Probasco.

A celebration of Ken’s life will be at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura, CA, on Wednesday, March 4, at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2:00 PM, at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
