LaVerne Louise Olson

LaVerne was living in Pullman, Washington, when she met Allan Olson, who was attending Washington State. They married in 1936 and lived all of their married lives in California. They were happily married for 62 years.

Bonnie, as her family and friends called her, and Allan, lived in Ventura from 1952 until 1959, in Thousand Oaks and Camarillo until 1963. After Allan retired they lived in Morro Bay, Mariposa, Chula Vista and Fresno.

During the last four years of her life she was a resident of Cypress Place in Ventura. Her family wishes to thank the staff of Cypress, Dr. Feiss and his assistant Jill for the kind and loving care they provided their mother.

Bonnie was “the best mother” to daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Ron Stewart, of Fresno and Ventura, son and daughter-in-law, Allan, Jr. and Georgann Olson of Ventura, and daughter, Linda Clough of Santa Barbara. She was a devoted grandmother to David and Jamie Stewart of Walnut Creek, Mark and Lisa Stewart of Salem, Oregon, Adam and Lisa Stewart of Turlock, Paul Stewart of San Diego, Andrew Stewart of Las Vegas, Nevada, Alison Stewart of Pacific Palisades, Daniel and Ann Olson of San Diego, Gage Olson of Ventura, Erik Olson of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Greg and Lynda Clough of Denver, Colorado, and Carrie Clough of Santa Barbara. She was also very proud of her sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Stewart in 1982 and her husband in 1999.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 10:00 A.M., at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.

Private burial will take place in St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, Fresno, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and grandson.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
