Leatrice "Lee" Ann Steen

the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother,

great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to

all that knew her.

Mom was born on April 19, 1931 in

Lawton, North Dakota. She was one of

thirteen brothers and sisters, with one

surviving sister Thelma Negard of North

Dakota.

On November 19, 1951 mom married the

love of her life, Ardell Steen in North

Dakota. (Dad preceded mom in death in 1998).

Shortly after they married they moved to

California where they raised their three daughters;

Sharyl, Floranne and Lori. Lee worked at many

places in Ventura, most known for lunch duty

at Montalvo Elementary School, cafeteria manager

at Kmart and also the Ventura Government Center.

Moms most enjoyable moments were spent with her

family and friends. Mom is survived by her daughters,

Sharyl Burke, Floranne (Frankie) Pillado, Lori (Todd)

Walker; grandsons, Jack (Cathy) Burke, Brian (Lisa)

Burke, Andrew (Nicole) Burke, Todd and Casey Walker;

great-grandchildren, Marcus Sandoval, Farris Burke,

Renee and Breanna Burke, Jennah Burke. Mom is also

survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces,

nephews, cousins, close friends, and all the children

who knew her as ”Grandma Lee” of Pelican Ave.

Mom will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

With mom’s love, we will make it through this difficult

time as a family and the love we share.

There will be a time of visitation on Friday, Oct. 4 from

5-7pm and a recitation of the rosary at 7pm at Charles Carroll

Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be on Sat., Oct. 5 at 10am at

Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the internment following

at Santa Clara Cemetery.
