Marilyn attended Mound School, and graduated from Ventura High School in 1946. She married David DeCamp in 1950, and they had two sons, Gary and Allan. Marilyn and David were together for 55 years, until his passing some years ago. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Phyllis Ward, who were also both natives of Ventura; and her sister, Betty Lamp.
Marilyn loved spending time with her family, gardening, reading, traveling, and cooking. She also enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends. Marilyn was a member of the San Buenaventura Women’s Club, P.E.O. Chapter IU, and she even volunteered for the Red Cross.
Marilyn prearranged that there be no services when she passes. The family would like to thank the doctors, and nurses who took care of her at Community Memorial Hospital, as well as the wonderful staff of nurses from Oakhurst Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home.
