

Marilyn “Liz” Canon, 75, of Oxnard, passed away in Ventura on Saturday, June 30, 2012 following a brief illness. She was born on July 14, 1936 in Compton, California and spent the majority of her childhood in Long Beach, California. In March of 1956, she married Robert Canon. Bob and Liz moved to Annapolis, Maryland where he taught at the United States Naval Academy. She moved back to California in the early 1960’s, settling in Oxnard.
She devoted the majority of her life to being a mother, wife and homemaker for her family. Marilyn had many hobbies and interests; she was an avid reader and ice skater and also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Canon and parents, Mary and Frederick Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth, and son-in-law, Timothy P. Dockery, of Dallas, GA; daughter, Laura Canon-Mensendiek, and son-in-law, James R. Mensendiek, of Ventura, CA; brothers, Robert L. Davis of Garden Grove, and Frederick R. Davis of Ladera Ranch.
