

Mary spent her childhood on the beaches of Ventura swimming and enjoying the pier that her great-uncle and grandfather helped to build. She graduated from Ventura High School and Ventura College and was married for twenty five years to Jack Brandon who she met when he was stationed at Port Hueneme Seabee Base.
Mary was a supervisor for the State of California Workman’s Compensation Appeals Board. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church where she was a Franciscan Lay Person; a member of the Ladies Institute (YLI) and a Braille Institute volunteer.
Mary loved good food, sunsets at the beach, tennis and flute. She was an avid reader; traveled the entire United States with Elder Hostile and her group of “Mary’s”. She loved the mountains at Potrero Seco, riding horses and enjoying sunsets at the beach.
Mary created a great legacy of love and devotion for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Paula Brandon of Ventura; daughters and sons-in-law, Noel and Dave Kelsch of Moorpark and Victoria and Vincent Vester of Ventura; nine grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Mary Brandon and great granddaughter, Emily.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014, 12:00 Noon, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church with The Reverend Alex Amayun officiating.
