

Mary Rose Dasnoit, “Rosemary” to all those who knew and loved her, passed away Thursday morning, November 14, 2013, following a brief illness. She was born June 11, 1925, in Los Angeles, California to Kenneth Leslie Morris, Sr. and Mary Rose (Wolf) Morris. Rosemary was the youngest of three children.
Rosemary met Walter Dasnoit, Jr. when she was just sixteen years old. They were married two years later on June 25, 1943, at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Los Angeles. Rosemary and Walt were married for 63 years and had nine children. They eventually relocated from the Los Angeles area to Ventura in 1970.
Rosemary had a very successful career for 24 years as a real estate broker here in Ventura. However, the first and most important career of her life was that of wife and mother. She was a devout Catholic who regularly attended Our Lady of the Assumption Church for 43 years. Rosemary volunteered her time over the years to numerous charities. To mention just a couple; the Catholic Big Sisters program and the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children “CASA” of Ventura County. She was an avid reader of all kinds of books but her favorite pastime was mystery novels. She most loved being with her family but also enjoyed visiting museums and attending the theatre. Over the years Rosemary enjoyed a variety of plays with family and friends and was fortunate to have seen most all of the theatre’s classic musicals.
Rosemary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Dasnoit, Jr., in 2006; her daughter, Renee Marie Dasnoit Pleis in 2010; and her grandson, Abraham in 2004. Rosemary is survived by eight children, Teri Hilton and her husband Jim, Mark Dasnoit and his wife Rae Ann, Connie Dasnoit, Zoe Michael and her husband Fred, Mary Dasnoit, Ed Dasnoit and his wife Tracy, Jennifer Rollag and her husband Dan, all of Ventura and Cindy Dasnoit of Santa Barbara; 26 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 3 nephews. She was deeply loved by so many.
A Prayer Vigil will be held on Monday, November 18, 2013, 7:00pm, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, 10:00am, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 3175 Telegraph Road, Ventura. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura.
